Hey folks! Sorry I've been absent for a bit. A lot has happened in my life, including knee problems (not good for gardening), losing a car (not talking about this issue), cataract surgery, and, of course, holidays. So you can see why I might have been a bit overwhelmed. That said, I have many more plans for this site.
Outside of reducing single-use plastic in this household, I also intend to increase the number of gardening tips. While I like keeping them seasonal, there are other things gardeners need to know, like what type of tools to use, which fertilizer for which plants, types of propogation and so much more.
I love that more people are getting into gardening (also called Homesteading, but I wouldn't call myself a Homesteader). So much to learn! But, you can create a small garden and self-sufficient foods for yourself and for your friends and family, and all it takes is following directions and setting aside time to make food. Talk about saving money! My grocery bill is greatly reduced with an anti-inflammatory meal plan along with making my own flatbreads and yogurt.
I'm going to share a lot of links this year as well to websites where I think you'll learn a lot about specific subjects like fermentation and breadmaking. My own mother never allowed me to join her in the kitchen when she was cooking, because I made her nervous. Then I married men who loved to cook and shut me out of the kitchen as well. Now it's my turn to turn my gardening into my own sustainable lifestyle.
So buckle up, buppies. Here's to 2025!
